The tower which opened to the general public in 1904 is situated 190 metres above sea level and provides the top views of the town, its attractive countryside as well as volcanic landscape.In November 2024, the University of Salford introduced plans to demolish the constructing as part of a redevelopment on the Adelphi Village space.[13][fourteen]
